Peridot, mineral (Mg, Fe)2SiO4
If my mummy/mommie, Anna, can write posts about cats, I, Sara Cat, can certainly write about gemstones and jewellery! I am linking up with that wonderful alphabet-challenge, that Mrs Denise Nesbit started and others help her out, namely, ABC-Wednesday, round 9. This week the letter is P.
My post is called 'P is for Peridot', which is a lovely translucent, olivine, green gemstone; it is actually a mineral (Mg, Fe)2SiO4, and one of the few gemstones that occur in one colour, an olive green. But it can vary in colour from light yellow to dark olive green depending upon how much iron there is in the crystal structure.
